The internet has brought unlimited access to information and has revolutionised the entire world. The way that we think, conduct business, communicate and entertain ourselves have all changed greatly.
On the other hand, the internet is also presenting us with new challenges and, while we must safeguard the principles of a free internet, we must ensure that citizens are protected from any form of abuse, including online bullying and other digital dangers.
The conference Type in Love, Type Out Hate, hosted by MEP Marlene Mizzi, aims at increasing awareness on cyberbullying, child sexual abuse online and other cyber crimes, in order to prevent and contain them.
This conference on digital dangers will help to create much needed alertness and attention regarding the possible dangers and consequential traumas that could be encountered online.
The conference will be held tomorrow at the Excelsior Hotel, Floriana, from 9am to 1pm. Entrance is free and lunch will be served to the attendees. One can book online by visiting http:// mizzimarlene.com/register/ or by sending an e-mail to info@mizzimarlene.com. Seats are on a first-come, first-served basis.
