Rabat Depiro 0
Qormi Poiatti 7

Qormi maintained the pressure on league leaders Hotsticks after cruising past Rabat in this one-sided match at the Hockey Complex in Corradino last weekend.

Rabat shared the early exchanges but after conceding the first goal, through Thomas Degiovanni on 23 minutes, they never recovered despite showing their best play at that particular juncture of the match.

Before half-time, Degiovanni scored again and he rounded up his hat-trick minutes after the restart for Qormi to open a 3-0 lead.

On 51 minutes, Degiovanni was again on the mark and two minutes later John Williams buried a reverse hit deep into the Rabat net.

Steve Tanti left his mark by claiming Qormi’s sixth and, as a result of a penalty corner action Kyle Micallef rounded off the scoring late on.

Umpires: Emile Borg, James Mizzi.

Floriana Young Stars 4
Laferla White Hart 0

Young Stars started this match in determined fashion, attacking down the flanks and putting White Hart’s defence in difficulty.

However, it was not until the 15th minute that Jamie Mifsud shot his team into the lead before Elton Cutajar doubled Young Stars’ lead with a low shot into the corner of the net.

On the change of ends, Young Stars continued to dictate the tempo of the match with their sallies from midfield and on 45 minutes Mark Camilleri was on the right spot to make it 3-0.

Luke Borg Costanzi then dashed into the D from the left flank and scored with a shot deep into the far corner of the net.

Umpires: Andre Ghio, Keith Calleja.
