Regulator investigating claims of illegally filled gas cylinders

'Consumers should not use such cylinders'

The Water and Energy Services regulator said today it is investigating claims by Liquigas that some of its gas cylinders were being illegally filled and distributed by its competitor Easygas, saying affected cylinders could be distinguished by their green seal.

In a statement this afternoon, the regulator said that when it was informed of similar allegations it had taken the necessary action.

It said consumers should not buy or use cylinders having such seals and should inform the regulator in case they had such cylinders on [email protected], tel: 2122 0619.
