A 39-year-old Iklin man was grievously injured this morning after he lost control of his Toyota Dyna car and smashed into a tree in Santa Lucija. 

The accident happened at around 9.15am on tal-Barrani road, police said. Paramedics took the man to Mater Dei hospital, where he is receiving treatment. Police say they are investigating further.
