Sounders: Reigning MLS champions Seattle Sounders got their first win of the season with a comfortable 3-1 success over New York Red Bulls. Goals from Clint Dempsey, Jordan Morris and Harry Shipp earned the three points for Sounders and ensured the Red Bulls’ unbeaten run in the regular season ends at 18 games, one shy of the league record.

Neuer: Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has been ruled out of tomorrow’s friendly with England in Dortmund with a calf injury. Neuer will miss the meeting with Gareth Southgate’s side as well as the World Cup qualifier away to Azerbaijan on Sunday. Paris St Germain’s Kevin Trapp was named as a replacement for Neuer.

Manchester derby: The Manchester derby has been rearranged for Thursday, April 27, the Premier League has confirmed. The clash between Manchester City and Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium was postponed in February because of United’s involvement in the EFL Cup final. Consequently, City’s league trip to Middlesbrough has been put back a day to Sunday, April 30. City still have another game against West Brom to rearrange due to their progress to the FA Cup semi-finals. A new date for that match will be confirmed next month.

New kit: England will wear a new away kit during tomorrow’s international friendly with Germany. Gareth Southgate’s team will turn out in navy blue shirts, shorts and socks for the fixture at Borussia Dortmund’s Westfalenstadion, England’s first match since Southgate was appointed manager on a permanent basis.

Leyton Orient: A bid to wind up Leyton Orient has been adjourned. Bosses at an event management firm say they are owed about £18,000. A judge said he would consider their winding-up application on June 12. Tax officials said a debt owed to them had been paid. A lawyer representing Orient said £1m was due to be injected into the club.
