It might be one of the busiest roads in Malta but that did not deter a man from breaking into a parked van and walk away with a "large sum of money".

A video uploaded on Facebook shows the thief getting into a fruit vendor's van and taking the cash from the "locked glove compartment", according to the post uploaded by James Galea who said he had just stopped the van to unload at a nearby shop.

The van was parked on Manuel Dimech Street on Saturday around 2pm.

Anybody who can recognise the man is asked to call the police. 

The video emerged two days after CCTV footage showed a man breaking into a Birkirkara store.
