Eman Borg, a student at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (Mcast) following an advanced diploma in marketing, has won a Queen’s Young Leaders Award for a project he proposed to set up an LGBTI ‘safe house’ in Gozo. He had been nominated for the award together with over 3,000 participants from other Commonwealth countries.

Borg will be following a one-year distance learning course in leadership skills through the University of Cambridge during which he will also be assigned a mentor to assist and oversee the development and execution of the proposed project. It will include a one-week residential programme in the UK in June during which he will collect his award personally from Queen Elizabeth II.
