If you've recently bought a green or yellow gas cylinder you should check its seal, Liquigas has said. 

The company has claimed that some of its gas cylinders are being illegally filled and distributed by its competitor Easygas, saying affected cylinders can be distinguished by their green seal.  

In a statement which did not mention Easygas by name, Liquigas said that it had filed a report with the energy regulator alleging abuse "by its competitor" and noting that it could not be held responsible for "any consequence arising from these illegally filled cylinders." 

Genuine green and yellow Liquigas cylinders which have been filled at the company's Bengħajsa facility have heat-shrink seals with a serial number and the word 'Liquigas' on it, the company said. 

“We expect the authorities to take effective action to protect the interests of Liquigas and also the interests of the end consumer," Liquigas CEO Roberto Capelluto said. "This is a serious matter, and it should be dealt with immediately especially when there is ample proof of who is behind this illegal activity.”
