Italian actress Maria Grazia Cucinotta is in Malta scouting for film locations and is in discussions to use the island as a base and backdrop for a long-term film project.

"I'm here to build something for the future - for movies, film series, co-productions. I'm here to build something that lasts for many projects.... I love the island's light, the energy. You feel at home immediately... any kind of movie can be based in Malta," Cucinotta told Times of Malta

The 48-year-old actress, well known for films like Il Postino, The Sea Purple, and as a James Bond girl in The World is Not Enough, also speaks about the importance of artists to continue using their fame to promote just causes.
