The Seat Ateca, which since June of this year has already opened the doors to different European markets, is among the five vehicles put forward for the prestigious Autobest 2017 awards, one of Europe’s top prizes given by a panel of 31 specialised journalists each representing a different country.
Autobest focuses on design, comfort, easy driving, value for money and commercial and service networks to choose the vehicle with most points in its favour as the customers’ best purchase option.
The winning model will be announced in mid-December, following comparative tests and the final voting.
This recognition of the Ateca comes at an especially important time for the company. Seat’s digital transformation coincides in time when Seat is consolidating its financial results and getting ready for its biggest offensive of new models. Following the Ateca, Seat is going to launch three new models in 2017 – the updated Leon, the fifth generation Ibiza and the new Arona crossover.
Seat is progressing towards sustainable profitability and expects to close 2016 with profits.
In addition, sales are increasing for the fourth year in a row, with 312,900 vehicles delivered until September.
