One of Mr Green’s founders, Mikael Pawlo, who stepped down as its CEO in June 2015, has set up a new fintech company, once again choosing Malta as it base.

Red Flag was set up with €3.7 million in seed capital, with Mr Pawlo as one of the initial investors, along with Mattias Soderhielm and Niklas Derouche as well as famous i-gaming people like Anders Strom, chairman of Unibet, and Staffan Persson, major investor in Unibet as well as prominent Swedish finance family Dinkelspiel (owners of major Swedish stock trading platform Nordnet) and some of the original Mr Green investors.

It said that its mission was to create an app which will allow people to choose their own working model, by automating accounting, expense reporting and invoicing – as well as cash planning.

“We believe that we have a unique opportunity to empower the individuals who are now at the mercy of a market for work in such a way that the playing field can be levelled. We can empower individuals sufficiently for them to create something for themselves without dealing with the complexities that once were associated with it,” Mr Pawlo said.

The first product will be launched in Sweden in the coming months, with more products planned for spring, then expanding into new markets during the fall next year.
