Every lift installed will feature a special sign with a QR barcode

On the occasion of the first edition of the Malta Architect Awards 2016, Lift Services is officially launching its new corporate branding and identity which will project the company forward in this digital era of informing and communicating. Unfortunately misinformation relating to lift safety is a reality and most people have no guidance about what goes behind building an elevator and more importantly which safety rules (which recently came into force through the Product Safety Act, Cap. 427) need to be strictly followed.

In line with this, Lift Services is launching an online tool which is a first of its kind in Malta to present as much information about the elevator in the simplest of ways. Starting in October, every lift installed or maintained by Lift Services will feature a special sign inside the lift cabin with a QR barcode. Upon scanning this code through a simple mobile app, every passenger in the lift will be directed to an online page featuring information about that particular lift including installation date, lift type and service dates.

Moreover the lift owner – or tenants in a block of apartments – may log on to a dedicated client area, and access even more information such as a full service history, jobs and costs, engineer certifications and servicing due dates related to their lift. Faults may also be reported through this online tool which will be received and processed real-time by 24/7 assistance agents. This new system also allows developers or condominium agencies managing more than one lift to access information about all their lifts from a single control panel.
