Under the auspices of the Malta Basketball Association, Luxol will be hosting the basketball team of Bryant University Bulldogs who play in the Northeast Conference NCAA Division One.

The Bryant University team are currently in Italy. They were unharmed by the 6.2 magnitude earthquake which hit central Italy early on Wednesday, the university said on its website.

The Bulldogs were scheduled to play their first game of the trip on Wednesday night in Spoleto but the game was cancelled due to the damage caused by the earthquake.

The Bulldogs’ visit to Malta is being co-ordinated by Santino Coppa, a well-known figure in the local basketball community following his spell as coach of the national women’s squad.

Coppa and Luxol have agreed that the exhibition match will be played at the MBA’s Ta’ Qali pavilion this coming Wednesday at 8pm.

BUPA Luxol’s selection will also include former club players.

The sporting public is invited to attend next week’s exhibition game.

Spectators will be asked to make a donation of €2 at the door.
