Stunning Mediterranean views, exotic cocktails and to-die-for food are the perfect summer combination. All of these are available at the recently refurbished The Edge restaurant within the Radisson Blu Resort at St Julian’s.

Whether you are in the mood for a casual lunch or a relaxing dinner, the aptly named The Edge caters for all tastes and preferences.

This open air restaurant offers impressive seaviews. During sunset, the returning yachts and the twinkling lights of the opposite casino across the bay add to the magical atmosphere of this prime location.

During the close season, a considerable investment was made to freshen the place up. A new open kitchen with the latest technology was also installed to give better service to patrons.

This includes a wood-burning oven, which is mainly used for home-made artisan pizza, freshly-baked bread, slow cooked potatoes and scented vegetables.

The star of the new kitchen is without doubt the Mibrasa grill – a charcoal burning Argentinian grill which reaches 400 degrees. This special grill cooks meat cuts or fish to their desired temperature, adding a smokey flavour while retaining all the juices, thus the food remain very tender.

Food concept consists of an a la carte menu and a display of meat cuts and fresh fish to choose from.

Meat include a variety of fresh cuts –tomahawk, bistecca Fiorentina and a number of premium meats – most of them vacuum packed and infused with original flavours and marinades.

Fresh fish on offer include brown meager, rockfish, swordfish, tuna, clamari and shellfish.

The kitchen brigade, led by executive chef Ramon Muscat, focus on fresh local produce and hearty portions. Their aim is to give top food and value for money to patrons.

Lunch menu includes an array of salads, mouth-watering fillers, pasta, risotto, pizza and signature burgers.

An innovative feature for this summer at The Edge is a lounge area with sofas, where one can enjoy an aperitivo, cocktails or an after-dinner drink while taking in the stunning views. This area includes the latest bar trend – a Tiki Bar – offering a range of exotic cocktails in large themed tiki mugs.

Live music during the evenings makes this popular venue a must-visit for the summer months.

Dinner (Monday and Thursday – reservations highly recommended) from 7 to 10pm.
