A centralised air conditioning system that uses the latest energy-saving technology has been installed in Grade 5 and 6 and Senior 1 and 2 classes at Mater Boni Consilii St Joseph School, Paola.
The system will enable the school administration to control the temperature in each class both centrally and via an app, while the air conditioners in each class can be individually controlled according to particular needs. In this way the system helps to prevent wastage of energy.
Headmaster Kenneth Vella said the school had carried out the project after it had saved energy costs the previous year by installing over 60 solar panels.
Both projects were implemented with the financial support of the community of the Sisters of St Joseph and the yearly contribution of parents of students at the school.
