Obituary

BORG. On July 15, at Mater Dei Hospital, FRANCESCO, lovingly known as Cesco, at the tender age of five, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by his devoted parents and family. He leaves to mourn his great, irreparable loss his parents Frank and Fae née Camilleri, his brother Matteo, his grandparents Frank Borg, widower of Nadia, and Josef and Anita Camilleri, his aunt Clarissa and her husband Mark Sultana and their daughter Annie, his uncle Gaston Camilleri and his girlfriend Justine Borg, Josephine Farrugia, his great-grandparents Maryanne Grima, Ivy Camilleri, and Joe and Ivy Rizzo, his many relatives and friends especially his school friends and teachers at San Anton School. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Real superheroes live in the hearts of small children fighting big battles.

BUSIETTA. On July 14, at Mater Dei Hospital, Chev. ADRIAN of Sliema and residing at Wardija, aged 81, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his partner Marie Angelique Caruana with her children Marisa Schembri, Paul Caruana and Tamara Jane Caruana, his children Rowena Mamo, Fiona Cachia and Hadrian Busietta and their mother Eileen Busietta, grandchildren Gerome, Hugo, Marcus, Samuel, Zak, Alexandra, Martina, his brother Austin Busietta and Moira, his sister Astrid and her husband Maurice O’Dea, both residing in the UK, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends and, not least, the Knights Hospitaliers of St John of Jerusalem. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday at 1.30pm for Nazzarenu parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

CHANDLER. On July 13, in Lincoln Nebraska, LILIAN, née Bonello, passed away peacefully two weeks short of her 73rd birthday. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Robert, her son Vernon, his wife Lisa and her granddaughter Katie, her brothers Tony and his wife Vicky, Ronald and his wife May, Adrian, her sister Silvana and her husband Edward Cachia Caruana, her aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces other relatives and friends. The funeral will be taking place in Lincoln. A Mass for the repose of her soul will be said tomorrow at 11.30am at the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy, San Pawl tat-Tarġa. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

DIMECH. On July 15, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH of Żebbuġ, residing at Marsascala, aged 72, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Loved and remembered by his wife Rose, his children Thomas and his wife Cynthia, Julian and Liz, Brigitte, Gordon and his wife Therese, and Aaron and his wife Sarah, his grandchildren Thea, Yana, Kathianne, Ariana, Gabriel, Kelly, Nathaniel and Esther, his brothers and sisters, his in-laws, all other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.45pm for St Philip’s parish church, Żebbuġ, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

PETRONI. On July 15, at St Vincent de Paul Residence, ALFRED, aged 84, passed away peacefully to meet his wife Molly and daughter Christine, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children, Noel and his wife Kauther, Caroline and her partner Victor, and Simon and his wife Elvira, his grandchildren John-Luke and his wife Emma, Robert and his wife Sue, Francesca and her husband Jason, Angelica, Daniel, Luke, Michael, Martina, Adam and Issac, his great-grandchildren Hannah, Nathan and Timothy, his brothers and sisters, his in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul Residence today at 2pm for Balzan parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Special thanks to all the staff at Loreto Ward, St Vincent de Paul Residence. Donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

ZAMMIT. On July 14, at Casa Leone, St Julian’s, EMILY née Cordina, aged 95, widow of Vincent, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sons Dr Valhmor Zammit and his wife Vivienne, and Dr Raymond Zammit and his wife Toniette, her grandchildren Marquita and her partner Matthew, Adrienne and her husband Wasim, Jean-Pierre and his wife Fiona, Anne-Marie and her husband Dr Jonathan Mifsud, Gabrielle and her husband Wallace, her great-grandchildren Fabian, Sameah and Leah, Sabastian, Benjamin, Luigi and Andrea. She will also be sadly missed by her sisters Evy and Doris, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Casa Leone on Monday at 8am for Balluta parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to The Lisa Maria Foundation will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Today being the trigesima die since the passing away of JOHN MANGION, a Mass for the repose of his soul will be said at 6.30pm at St Mary’s parish church, Attard. The presence of relatives and friends will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
