CCTV footage from Istanbul's Ataturk airport has shown how a police officer who shot down a suicide bomber survived the ensuing explosion with seconds to spare.
Three suicide bombers killed at least 41 people when they attacked Istanbul's major airport yesterday. Turkish authorities have linked the attack to Islamic State.
The video begins moments after a first attacker blew himself up outside the airport terminal. Passengers can be seen fleeing in terror, followed shortly afterwards by a man following hot on their heels.
As he rounds the corner, a security officer shoots him down, and an object that appears to be the suspect's weapon goes flying to the right.
The officer then approaches the suspect's body, only to realise something is amiss. He runs away at full speed, and moments later a massive explosion goes off.
It is not known if the officer survived the blast, or whether the explosion was caused by an explosive device worn by the shot suspect.
41 people are still in intensive care in Turkish hospitals, with some 250 people having been hurt in the airport attacks.
Ataturk airport - Europe's third-busiest - resumed operations today, and Turkish Airlines was flying in and out of the airport within 12 hours of the attacks.
