Eighty-four students from 42 schools involved in the Ekoskola programme attended a parliamentary session to propose concrete actions to combat climate change to MPs from both sides of the House. The recommendations included measures to promote efficient and effective sustainable mobilty and alternative renewable sources of energy, to curb deforestation, and to include sustainable development issues in various areas of the curriculum. The students ended by tabling a motion calling on the MPs to endorse their efforts in the programme and urging them to act on their recommendations. The motion was unanimously approved. The event was chaired by Speaker Anġlu Farrugia and organised by Nature Trust (Malta) under the auspices of the Office of the Speaker.
