Zach Muscat is to continue his football career in Italy after signing a contract with Arezzo.
The Malta defender has attracted the interest of a host of Italian clubs after his positive short-term spell with Akragas in the second half of last season but the 23-year-old gas opted to join Arezzo who play in Group B of the Lega Pro championship.
US Arezzo announced on their website that Muscat has agreed a two-year contract with the club.
News that Muscat, who has established himself as a regular player for the Maltese national team, has signed for an overseas club comes a day after fellow Malta international Andrè Schembri agreed a preliminary contract with Portuguese club Boavista.
Schembri, currently on honeymoon, is expected to travel to Portugal late this month for his medical and, if all goes to plan, he will sign a two-year contract.
