The old water tower which marked the supply of water to Floriana from Rabat at the time of the knights has been restored by the Infrastructure Ministry

The tower, near Sarria Church, is a Grade A listed building but had suffered the ravages of time and pollution from traffic.

The €20,000 project included a clean-up and repairs to its spiral stairs. Emblems on its facade were painstakingly repaired.

Minister Joe Mizzi attended a ceremony marking the completion of the project along with architects Wendy Mifsud and Mireille Fsadni and Floriana mayor Davina Sammut.
