MOAS rescues 127 stranded off Libyan coast
A rescue mission to save migrants stranded at sea saved 127 people this morning after it spotted a rubber boat floating in the 'dead zone' off Libya's coast.
The Migrant Offshore Aid Station's 52-metre ship Responder conducted the rescue. Survivors are being cared for by members of Italian humanitarian NGO Emergency.
MOAS' mission, which began yesterday, involves the Responder, the 40-metre Phoenix and two drones.
Since 2014, MOAS rescue missions have saved more than 13,000 lives.
