Sliema Aquatic Sports Club have announced Marko Cuk as their foreign player for the upcoming summer season.

The Serbian needs no introduction to the local scene having represented San Ġiljan in the early stages of his career as well as Exiles last season, which was particularly positive for him.

Cuk started his career at Vojvodina before moving to fellow Serbian giants Partizan Belgrade.

He has also played for Ortigia in Italy and again in Serbia with Radnicki. Currently, he is plying his trade with Ferencvaros, in the Hungarian League.

Cuk has represented Serbia at all junior levels as well as the senior national team.

He flew in towards the end of May and on Thursday joined his new Sliema team-mates on a five-day training camp in the north of Italy in preparation for the ASA league campaign.

The season gets underway on Tuesday with the Super Cup contests in both categories.

Marsascala play Marsaxlokk in the Division One opener at 18.15.

This match will be followed by the clash between Premier Division champions San Ġiljan and Neptunes (start: 19.30).
