The prehistoric site of Kordin has joined the other megalithic temples managed by Heritage Malta following a mutual agreement with Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna to relinquish this important site in favour of Heritage Malta.

FWA had managed Kordin III for the past 20 years.

The transfer, approved by the Committee of Guarantee and formally implemented on site today, will rationalise the management of Malta’s megalithic temples, most of which are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List and managed by Heritage Malta.

The site, also known as Kordin III, is found at Corradino Heights where there originally stood three temple complexes. Kordin III is the only one that has survived. Found in the vicinity of Tarxien Temples and Hal Saflieni Hypogeum, Kordin Temples further attest the importance of the harbour area in the Neolithic.

The site will be open by appointment.
