Forestals has successfully delivered training to a group of 90 educators on the use of 3D printing machines.

The training was part of the deployment of 3D printers in government secondary schools and was intended to give educators hands on experience on setting up the printers and print their first 3D models.

The training, conducted by Forestals in collaboration with educators from the Ministry of Education and Employment was conducted using Ultimaker 2 3D printing machines, which are identical to the models that are being deployed in the classrooms.

Ultimaker is considered to be the leading global high-end education 3D printer supplier, and the Ultimaker 2 has won numerous awards due to its large build size capability, robust software and excellent print quality.

“In line with our tradition of introducing leading brands and innovative products to Malta, Forestals is proud to be introducing yet another cutting edge technology to the local market,” Gordon Dimech, chief operations officer, said.

“We recognise that with any new technology, we need to support the community with training and support, and it is our intention to continue to develop our programmes to facilitate and encourage the take up of 3D printing in line with the education curriculum. We are also committed to provide support to local businesses who wish to use this technology to enhance their design or manufacturing processes,” he concluded.

Ultimaker is exclusively distributed locally by FGL Information Technology, a member of the Forestals Group of Companies. For more information call on 2343 6000 or e-mail info@fglit.com.
