Nadur’s official carnival event kicked off at noon today with a four-hour programme in the village’s main square organised by the local council.

The programme included dances, sketches, processions of floats, bands, grotesque masks and people dressed in costumes, and the traditional kukkanja.

A ‘spontaneous’ carnival will take place after sunset from February 5 to 9, where people wearing funny, satirical or grotesque costumes and masks will roam the village’s main streets.
