When is the bus coming? Why isn't it coming yet? How frustrating is it to just wait, waste time in waiting for a late bus? Not that it's the bus driver's fault - he is pressured enough to get on time to his passengers. Traffic jams the roads; babies scream; drivers hoot impatiently (like hooting changes anything!); major road works the moment school begins; and now...a drop of rain; more traffic, traffic accidents, more hooting... Still no bus...

There is one solution to those waiting at the bus stop, nevertheless.

A Young Enterprise company made up of 13 international students taking International Baccalaureate degree at Verdala School looked at the problem of waiting time spent at bus stops and figured out that there can be an innovative solution to getting passengers real-time updates on the exact arrival of their buses.

The young team worked out a simple math problem: by analysing the speed the bus is going at and the level of traffic it is at an app can produce an almost perfect estimate to how far the bus is from any bust stop a passenger is waiting at.

Matt Cassar meets the young team behind the app to learn more about their idea and how far they plan to take it.
