Caffe Moak Luxol and Hibs Electrofix continue to lead the women’s league standings following victories over PAVI Depiro and Floriana, respectively, last weekend.

Luxol had the better of Depiro for the third time this season.

Without coach Adrian Mifsud on the sidelines, Depiro shared the exchanges in the opening stages until Luxol obtained 12 points in succession to change ends 28-16 ahead.

Depiro tried to react after the interval but their efforts came to nothing as Luxol pulled further away to start the last ten minutes 44-25 in front.

Luxol had most of their substitutes on court in the last quarter and that helped Depiro to reduce the margin to 45-36.

But with a couple of first-teamers back in the line-up, Luxol made sure to avoid surprises, winning the match 58-42.

As expected, Hibs met little resistance from Floriana and the match was as good as over at half-time when the Paolites led 39-14.

Floriana were never in the match as Hibs cantered home for a clear 87-20 victory.

Meanwhile, Gżira Athleta kept in touch with the leaders thanks to a 54-41 win over Starlites.

Athleta built a comfortable lead after the first quarter (23-3) and continued to extend their advantage before half-time (37-13).

After the interval, Athleta slowed the pace but remained in control to register their second win in the championship.

Standings
Luxol 6 (3-0), Hibs 6 (3-0), Athleta 5 (2-1), Depiro 4 (1-2), Starlites 4 (1-2), Floriana 3 (0-3).
