A 51-year-old man who was out on his boat in the area known as Taht il-Fortizza in Delimara is in a critical condition after a part of the cliff collapsed on his boat at around 5pm.

A 52-year-old woman, also from Gudja, who was with him, was also hospitalised for shock but she was not injured.

The couple were assisted by other boaters who towed them into Marsaxlokk, where they were given first aid by a medical team and then transferred to Mater Dei Hospital.
