Only one out of 10 employers said in a recent survey they would hire a former prison inmate. Statistics show that nearly half of all former convicts will end up behind bars again. Many believe the time spent behind bars is not being used effectively enough to rehabilitate prisoners and prepare them to reintegrate in society.
This in spite of the fact that thousands of euros have been spent over the past years on prison reform.
