David Farrugia enjoyed a positive start to the World Raffa Championships, currently being held in Rome.

Farrugia opened his group commitments with a straightforward 15-0 victory over a Latvian player yesterday morning.

In the afternoon session, the Maltese player faced a stronger opponent from Russia but still managed to come out on top, 15-13.

Today, Farrugia plays against a French opponent.

In Rome, Farrugia is accompanied by Malta Raffa Bowls Club president Adrian Sciberras and coach Santolo Nunziata.
