Quillian Joyeux and Quattro d’Arline took the honours in the two Premier class races held during the fourth Winter meeting of the season at the Marsa Racetrack yesterday.

Twelve horses lined up in the first class Premier race.

It was Quiet Du Chene (Charles Camilleri) which set the early pace, opening a half length lead from Printemps De Gaia (Michael Axisa) and Austrian newcomer Striking Actions (George Attard).

However Quiet Du Chene was unable to keep up the pace till the end and this French trotter was overtaken by Quillian Joyeux (Andrew Farrugia) which cruised to its first win of the year by two lenghts from Gently Di Poggio (Michael Ellul) and Zalgado Transs R (Noel Baldacchino).

Favorite Pronostic De Neige (Johan Axisa) ended fourth.

Quattro d’Airline (Cliferty Calleja) produced a strong finish in the second Premier race.

Midway through the final straight, this French trotter managed to just pip Absolut Spender (Mark Desira) to victory. Veikko Hornline (Julian Farrugia) and P.A. Surprise (Lorraine Cunningham) followed home in that order.

Another meeting at the Marsa Racetrack will be held on Sunday.
