When faced with a challenge in life one has two avenues: to stay put and whine or do something about it. That is the philosophy behind the setting up of Proud to live in St Paul’s Bay – The Action Group.

Leading by example, we hope to raise awareness on cleansing in our locality. The co-coordinators of the group are Adrian Spiteri, Denise Baker, Lawrence Tonna, Maria Helga Muscat-Grolz, Martin Foley, Mary Grace Vella and me.

The local council spends much of its funds in an effort to keep the locality tidy, yet, for some obscure reason, people in this day and age still dump their litter as they please. Notwithstanding a free bulky refuse collection, irresponsible individuals dump all kinds of stuff in the area.

Our first activity is to clean up a playing field in Triq it-Turisti, in the vicinity of Qawra parish church and adjoining areas. This will happen on August 23 from 9am.

More information and future activities will be posted on Facebook (Proud to live in St Paul’s Bay – The Action Group). On behalf of the group, I take the opportunity to thank the Proud to live in St Paul’s Bay Facebook page administrator for the space and support provided.

Our locality deserves better. Join our cause... as we work our way towards a cleaner St Paul’s Bay!
