Striker Michael Mifsud has returned to his first love after signing a contract to join Sliema Wanderers this morning.

The Malta captain's move back to the club where he shot to prominence in the nineties had been mooted for some time but it was completed today when Mifsud signed the contract in front of Sliema president Keith Perry, committee members and club fans.

"I'm happy," Mifsud told timesofmalta.com."Ideally, I would like to end my career with Sliema, my first club, but to be honest I don't want to think about that as I feel I still have plenty to offer."

Last season, Mifsud, 33, played for Australian club Melbourne Heart.
