Turkey will this year be represented at the Malta International Airshow for the first time ever.

The Turkish Air Force will be participating with the air force aerobatic team the Turkish Stars.

The team performs its displays with eight supersonic fighter jets, the Canadair NF-5s, obtained from the Royal Netherlands Air Force.

The participation of the Turkish Stars brings another first to the airshow, being held on September 27 and 28, the participation of four teams in the same year.

The other teams are the Red Arrows (UK), Frecce Tri Colori (Italy) and Patrulla Aguila (Spain).
