A Libyan man was accused in court today of having stolen 43 bottles of wine, a bottle of Amaretto, a saw, a lighting extension, two lamps, three antique cooking stoves and an antique radio from a restaurant in Mistra in March.

Isam Mohammed El Shamhumi, 35, pleaded not guilty to the theft from Margos Restaurant.

He also denied relapsing, breaching the conditions of two conditional discharges, breaching the conditions of a suspended jail term and breaching the conditions of bail in yet another case.

He was remanded in custody.

Police Inspector Sandra Zammit prosecuted.
