Gabriela NGabriela N

Following the summer spell of success she enjoyed last year when two of her tracks topped New York hit music radio station iHeartRadio’s charts, local artist Gabriela N is back with a new project.

The Gozitan singer was picked by The World Academy of Arts, Literature and Media (WAALM), which is based in the UK, to represent Malta in one of the academy’s biggest musical projects, involving artists from more than 15 countries spanning four continents.

In her designated role as the Voice of Malta, the local artist was asked to record the song Walk in Style. Written by Moshi Dorbayani and composed by Loghman Adhami, the song talks about, and is, in fact, dedicated to all victims of bullying.

The recording process of the Maltese version was completed over the New Year after a number of weeks in the studio with local producer René Mamo.

“The academy sent us a piano demo of the song, following which I worked closely with René to decide what direction and sound our version would have”, the artist said.

“We wanted to find the best genre that we felt would fit my voice while also bringing out the message of the song itself clearly.”

Released a few weeks ago via Gabriela N’s official You Tube channel as well as on WAALM’s official website, the song has been receiving a lot of international radio airplay.

An accompanying music video produced by RSVP Digital Production from the Philippines was also released with the song and has been featured on MTV and VH1.

Meanwhile, Gabriela N has a number of other projects ahead of her this year, the most important of them being the release of an album in the summer.
