The Malta Resources Authority is proposing that door-to-door gas cylinder retailers shall be required to operate a 24-hour call centre and emergency services to consumers.

It made its proposals in a document for public consultation on the reform of the LPG market structure issued after the Government informed it of its intention to declare the door-to-door retail of liquefied petroleum gas in cylinders as a service of general economic interest under the Competition Act.

The MRA is inviting feedback on its document up to December 6. The document can be read in the pdf links below.

Submissions are to be made in writing and marked “Consultation – LPG market” and sent to the Chief Executive Officer, Malta Resources Authority, Millennia, Second Floor, Aldo Moro Road, Marsa MRS 9065or e-mailed to mra@mra.org.mt.
