Italian marksman Emanuel Bernasconi showed all his versatile qualities yesterday when he added the Malta Trap Grand Prix title to the Double Trap trophy he had won last week at the Bidnija ranges.

The competition was contested by over 40 shooters, a good number of whom came from outside the country. In the gold medal match Bernasconi beat fellow Italy compatriot Fabio Sollami 11-10.

Stefano Pennoni was third for an all-Italian podium.

In fact, the Trap shoot was dominated by shooters from the Italian federation who booked all six places in the barrage final, the other three being PierLuigi Sollami, Angelo Sciarra and Simone Gissi.

The Barrage ‘B’ category was won by Jeffrey Pisani (21 clays), ahead of Joe Zammit (19) and James Galea (18).
