Torino: Torino have announced the signing of Udinese goalkeeper Daniele Padelli. The 27-year-old will join the club from July although neither the fee nor the length of the deal has been revealed.

Liverpool: Liverpool confirmed the addition of a friendly against Norwegian side Valerenga to their pre-season programme. The Reds will travel to Oslo for the fixture on August 7. Liverpool are already playing in Indonesia, Australia and Thailand on their pre-season tour in July and also hosting Olympiacos for Steven Gerrard’s testimonial at Anfield on August 3.

Germany win: Germany showed their strength in depth with a largely second string team beating Ecuador 4-2 in a friendly in Florida yesterday. Two goals each from Lukas Podolski and Lars Bender put Germany 4-0 up inside 24 minutes as Joachim Loew’s team, without any players from Champions Lea-gue finalists Bayern Munich or Bor. Dortmund, dominated.

Kluivert: Former Holland striker Patrick Kluivert has left his role as FC Twente youth coach. The 36-year-old, who won league titles with Barcelona, PSV Eindhoven and Ajax, last year joined the coaching staff on the Dutch national team under Louis van Gaal. Now Kluivert has vacated his role at Twente and told the club’s official website: “I had a great time at FC Twente. Now, I’m ready for the next step in my coaching career.”

Hasselbaink: Former Holland striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has been named as the new manager of Belgian second divi-sion side Royal Antwerp. Hassel-baink, who was on the coaching staff at English Championship side Nottingham Forest, has signed a one-year deal with the remit of taking the former UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup runners-up back up to the top flight.
