Victoria mayor Samuel Azzopardi recently unveiled a plaque in honour of Canon Ġann Piet Franġisk Agius de Soldanis, father of Gozo’s historiography, during a commemorative soirée at St George’s Square, Victoria. The event, presented by Antoine Vassallo, chairman of Fondazzjoni Belt Victoria, included a short talk by historian Paul Ġorġ Pisani on Agius de Soldanis. The plaque was blessed by St George’s parish archpriest Mgr Paul Cardona.
