Maltese guitarist Sean Vukovic has made it to the finals of the International Songwriting Competition ISC 2012 with his song ‘Hurricane Blue’.

In 2010, Mr Vukovic was awarded an honorable mention with ‘Song For Rudy’ by the Nashville based ISC which was described as "the songwriting competition to take note of" by the New York Times.

Out of  the 324 finalists shortlisted from over 20,000 entries, ‘Hurricane Blue’ is one of the 16 songs in the instrumental category that have now been sent to the ISC celebrity judges who will select the winners which will be announced in April.

The finalists’ songs have also been posted online as part of The People's Voice, a separate competition which allows the public to vote for their favourite song.

Voting is open until March 31.
