A Chinese motorcyclist avoided being crushed by a trailer just in time.

The incident, caught on a traffic camera, happened on January 22 in the eastern province of Zhejiang.

The truck driver said afterwards there was nothing he could do to stop the load overturning and that he had been driving very carefully.

"I was driving the truck downhill at a speed of about 10 kilometres per hour. As the road winds here, the back compartment of the truck tilted towards the right side and then flipped over, which was followed by the front of the truck."

State media reported that no one was hurt in the accident.

In 2010, Chinese police recorded more than 200,000 road accidents that lead to deaths or injuries, with the number of fatalities at over 65,000 people.
