Lotto receivers have approved a motion for their union to negotiate with Maltco a collective guarantee on their behalf.
The motion also called on them to follow a directive not to pay the personal guarantee the company wanted to impose.
Maltco has set January 4 as the date by when the personal guarantee has to be paid saying it will not provide receivers with a new service unless this guarantee was supplied.
The Lotto Receivers Union said it was open to serious negotiations on a collective guarantee and was willing to increase the existing one to a reasonable amount which did not place a useless burden on members.
The union said it should be meeting the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister shortly.
