A decision by the Tribunal for Administrative Review which had allowed a circus to be set up on the car park of the Floriana granaries was overturned today by the Court of Appeal.

The appeal was filed by the Attorney General and the Police against Circus organiser Johann Said.

The Appeals Court said it was not easy to find parking in Valletta and Floriana and such parking problems became more difficult over Christmas.

Setting up a circus in a parking lot over the Christmas period made the bad parking situation even worse, not just for shoppers but also for people who would have needed to go to the circus.

Therefore, the ban on the setting up of the circus was reasonable. (The same circus has been set up in a car park near Addolorata Cemetery)
