What role do men play during Christmas? They do the heavy lifting, spark up the fairy lights and warm up their baritone vocal cords with some hearty carols.

They also get to enjoy the treat of feeding the Christmas cake while putting aside a tipple for themselves.

But come December 25, men also have to suffer being the recipients of Christmas jumpers and having to dress up as Santa.

In M magazine, out tomorrow with The Times, Victor Calleja relives his Christmas jumper horrors.

On the other hand, dressing up as Santa isn’t all that bad. In fact, Veronica Stivala meets a man who has done so for three decades – he even grows his own beard.

Elsewhere, Andrea Faye Christians gets to go out on an enjoyable drive with panto Snow White Rachel Fabri.

M magazine also gains access to Alan Meadows’ photo album, interviews stunt rider Zoltan Angyal and meets Alan Bradley, whose Flavia de Luce books have been optioned by Sam Mendes for a television series.

Edited by Stanley Borg, M magazine is designed by MediaMaker Limited and printed by Progress Press Limited, both members of the Allied Group.
