A 31-year-old man from St Paul’s Bay was this morning fined €700 and had his driving licence suspended for three months after he was found guilty of seriously injuring a drunk man involuntarily.

Ian Agius hit Ivica Marinkovic on January 10, 2010 in Triq il-Mosta, St Paul’s Bay.

He told the court that Mr Marinkovic was very drunk, he crossed the road and hit him because he was following the traffic light.

Magistrate Doreen Clarke concluded that this was tantamount to not keeping a proper lookout.
