Workers under contract at the Mater Dei Hospital were being exploited by the Government and health authorities, the General Workers’ Union claimed yesterday.

The union said the Government, the health authorities and the management had promised the workers their salaries would be increased but this was still to happen.

The union also published e-mails that passed between its professional, finance and services section and Health Minister Joe Cassar and other authorities which it said proved its point.

It said it was left with no option but to register an industrial dispute.
