Michael Woods yesterday received a two-match touchline ban following his dismissal during Hibernians’ 2-1 victory over Ħamrun Spartans last weekend.

Woods was ordered off the bench by referee Fyodor Zammit in the dying minutes of Saturday’s match at the Hibs Stadium.

The ban means that Woods will have to watch Hibs’ next two matches, against Mosta and Qormi, from the stands.

Patxi Salinas, Melita’s newly-appointed coach, was given a one-match ban after being sent off in the closing stages of his team’s 2-2 draw with Floriana. The Spaniard will have to skip Saturday’s game against Birkirkara.

Justin Attard, the Floriana FC president, was also suspended for one match after his sending-off in the Melita game.

Duncan Pisani was the only top-flight player to be sanctioned by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner yesterday.

The Floriana flank defender will miss his side’s clash with Sliema Wanderers next Monday after receiving a one-match ban for four yellow cards.
