Marilù Vella’s Pastizzi Gourmet has won the 11th JCI Best Business Plan Competition.

On the night of the final at Sliema’s The Palace a few days ago, teams presented their business ideas to six judges and numerous guests.

Daniel Aquilina’s Journeys was first runner-up.

Pastizzi Gourmet also won the People’s Choice Award, the newest recognition to the competition.

Ms Vella outlined her adventure in business which began last year and explained how she is constantly looking to create innovative recipes that combine novelty with tradition.

JCI Malta has supported young and aspiring entrepreneurs by providing them specialised training, tailored mentoring and access to expertise for the past 11 years.

JCI Malta 2012 national president Charlotte Gregory says the organisation has seen people evolve from shy, aspiring entrepreneurs to successful leaders.

The JCI Best Business Plan Competition is endorsed by the International Chamber of Commerce World Chambers Federation and supported by HSBC Bank Malta plc and KPMG in Malta.
