Maltese top division rugby club Stompers RFC have just appointed Daniel Holliday as their Community Coach for the new season.

‘Pancho’, as Holliday is affectionately known in local rugby circles, is a Malta national team player and has been coaching for six years prior to taking up his new post at Stompers.

He previously worked as Community Coach for Cardiff Blues, delivering sessions in schools and clubs while also assisting in the running and organi-sation of tournaments throughout the region.

Last season, Holliday was part of the coaching team that dominated the Cardiff district U-14 league. He coached the side over a ten-week period, developing the young players’ individual and position specific skills.

He was also part of a team that were responsible for delivering fitness tests and training sessions to academy players in all of the rugby playing regions in Wales.

In the early days of his playing career, Holliday represented Cardiff Blues at age grade level and also played for the Welsh schoolboys team in international competition.

Later he joined Rumney RFC and also figured for Kandy Rugby Club in the top-level competitions in Sri Lanka.
